I’m Speaking at the Digital Workplace Conference Australia and Chance for a Free ticket

Joel Oleson April 4, 2016 2

I’m very excited to be speaking at the upcoming Digital Workplace Conference in Melbourne, Australia. This is already set to be the largest and best SharePoint and Office 365 event across the entire Asia and Pacific Rim. The speakers at the event are really some of the top in the world. It’s very exciting to see the line up of top influencers, MVPs, and bloggers. I decided over a year ago that I couldn’t miss this one and very excited to be working with the organizers who are well connected to all of the user groups and communities across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and more. It’s been way too long that we got the whole community together with the leaders in the business to talk about where we are going with this industry and how it impacts your business.

This is really the first opportunity post launch of SharePoint 2016 to talk about it with no NDA and with all of the learning from the early adopter programs. It’s also an exciting time in SharePoint history with a return of leadership at Microsoft and new leaders that are top notch people from our community. I’m excited to share some of what they’ve told me that I’ve got permission to speak to. The SharePoint roadmap is hot, with lots of exciting things down the road and knowing how to position the technologies and what to do has never been more transparent. Microsoft has reiterated their emphasis on SharePoint, Office 365 and OneDrive by recruiting top talent from our industry and bringing back the best in the business. It’s definitely an exciting time and an incredible time to connect with friends, speakers, and influencers.

My sessions are:

LOCATION: Room 1 DATE: April 29, 2016 TIME: 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

SharePoint 2016 has a lot of new features that we inherit from the cloud, as well as a lot of new hybrid features and additional UI investments that have already proven popular in Office 365 SharePoint online. With the IT Preview it seems Microsoft is only talking to the IT and Devs.

In this session we’ll approach the features from a user perspective and help you to:

  • Get a first look at SharePoint 2016 for the business whether you are already planning to upgrade, or just curious
  • Build the business case of a more secure, auditable, and flexible SharePoint 2016 upgrade or deployment
  • Start planning for the next big version of SharePoint and be ready for release
  • See a real example of how SharePoint could be integrated with the modern software to ensure the Always-On business.

LOCATION: Room 2 DATE: April 28, 2016 TIME: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Some of the most significant SharePoint related releases over the last 2 years have been to the mobile device and we’re not done!
  • A new wave of releases of Office apps on Android and iOS phones and tablets have happened with little fanfare. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are now some of the most powerful apps on your phone and you didn’t even know! This session not only covers the Office Suite of mobile apps, but also focuses on the newest members of the Office family, OneNote, Sway, OneDrive and introduces some powerful scenarios that will knock your socks off, including the super powerful Office Lens! Mobile Device Management through Office 365 has never been more important to understand and deploy.
  • No death by PowerPoint in this session!  This 100% demo session driven completely by mobile device is a crowd pleaser.  We’ll kick off this session with the latest news on Windows Mobile 10 and SharePoint & Office 365 discussing the latest Windows 10 mobile devices and universal apps.

    Hey Joel,
Post about the conference has been added to my Blog:

Hoping for a free ticket. I asked my Manager if I could attend and they said the training budget doesn’t allow conferences.
